Now this feature more or less takes its shape, thanks! Let's see if this can be put to some use...

Such a group is a good thing thx.

Not sure about being a GM some ppl said i can't be an Officer in CRC anymore if i'm a GM, not sure if that is true if so i rather stay Officer. The 2nd thing i would never level reset someone for botting (i think that rule is op and we lost so many ppl already through that) i would rather @kick them spawn them with deadly mobs or throw them in prison (i added that but its not used atm) since this is the way i think it should be, they can dwell behind iron bars a while and if they do that again they land there again and only real online time (maybe 3 months) even if its afk or better they must do something every hour/day so that hour/day counts (day is maybe more fair). And yeah ppl should elect the gm i guess.

Is that true?... I will have to ask Rill about that.

In the past we had GMs as officers. I always thought the newer rule against it was bad for everyone in the long run, as community-minded people tend to rise to officer ranks in the guild and also tend to be the type of people who are suited to be GMs, so making the roles mutually exclusive ends up being a barrier. The number of GMs is getting dangerously low IMO and I would encourage any barriers to be removed. If GMs can be developers or admins there is no reason they couldn't also be CRC officers. We threw away the "GMs can't be devs" idea a long time ago and I'm glad we did.

I'm glad to hear that rule doesn't exist anymore.

I agree. I'm a CRC quartermaster, and if I were to be elected as a GM, it wouldn't feel good if I had to give up my position as QM in the guild. I don't see why I couldn't be both.

WildX, all of us on the Event Team have agreed to use the HEX color #009DC4 as the usergroup color... if you could change that for us, we would be grateful :)

As for guild officers VS GMing there's one thing.

Technically GM chars usually need to be in GM guild. This obviously in conflict with Guild Officer of CRC since char can only be in one guild.

Though I can think at least one way to fit this requirement. Namely, its possible to do what I did: create dedicated GM account, get GM levels on this one and it would be GM char to dwell in GM guild. It can coexist with normal player. As byproduct, it makes players way more comfortable playing with you. Yep, scary green badge would drive ppl away from you. They wold avoid you. And playing together can become harder. Its where I think this split-accout approach cured one of well known problems: GMs tend to disintegrate from community over time. At least in these few years I'm still feeling like part of in-game community. So I think this idea more or less works.

Having a dedicated account for GMing feels completely normal to me. How else would you help someone when they have trouble and you are busy bottingplaying? GM accounts also have some limits removed that do affect gameplay (cooldowns).

.. and before we have a huge argument over this, picture this: you've just begun Razha and someone calls for help. you don your GD hat and switch to GM alt. And you still get the BP from razha :)

Elevated accounts doing gameplay may also bring awkward bugs and odds. As concrete recent example:

  • Ledmitz adds item to MM.
  • Soon he claims there's "bug" in game: bot yanked item - and not trades it back!

How it happened? Seems GM80 can override, adding non-tradable items to trades. But bot had no GM80 so neither it can sell lot nor it can even return it. Same about some spells that allow ppl with GM levels to bypass limits, etc. IMO actively playing game as elevated entity not necessarily good idea.

I also do not think GMs are exempt from multi-boxing rule. So only one char to be active at time. I may park Hello=) in some battle if I need to e.g. help someone as GM, do bot check, etc. But like that Hello=) will not fight (or do anything) and 100% relies on players to protect char if they up for it. I do not believe Hello=) fighting while I do GM part would fit TMW's multi-boxing rule. So only one of them active at time. IMO its not appropriate for GMs to try to circumvent game rules.

Definitely. Since a GM should serve as an example to the community, they should not try to circumvent any rules.

As for normal gameplay, I guess it depends. Back when I was leveling in the swamp with HoraK, who has GM40 afaik, I never noticed any advantages he had over me… with that said, I don’t know what some elevated entity advantages are, so I don’t know what to look for.
